No matter what kind of aids you use, you still have to be careful. If the aid is too sticky, then it is almost impossible to position your ruler easily. I use the little sandpaper dots, and have had them on for about 2 years and I like them. Just enough added control.

Maybe try a very fine sandpaper. Me, I went all the way with heaviest grid I had and works great. Just took my paper puncher, punched out a bunch and put a dot on every inch mark on my 6" x 24".

I wish I had done it long ago! It doesn't budge!

I'm going to do it to them all.
I saw this post about the tiny sandpaper squares. My bigger quilting rules are Omnigrid and they have little circles with the numbers. Looking at the rulers they have 2 different sized circles with the numbers (1/4" and 1/8"). I was wondering if I could use the fine sandpaper and a hole punch? I was thinking about the scrapbook hole punches. Has anyone tried this?

Also, what did you use to glue to the back of your ruler? Was it any type of special glue?
