Today is the day I finally learn to do this. I have dropped the feed dogs. I have attached the darning foot. I have practiced on spare bits. I have had coffee. Getting up the courage to actually start so wish me luck.

You may want to pick up some gloves and silicone spray. I haven't yet but I have been told it really makes a difference! good luck...you will do great! Can't wait to see...

Hope you've been able to practice 1st? I use squares with batting/backing for practice. These sqs are another way of using up ugly fabric.Have also used fabric with a design,so to follow the lines.Have fun with FM.

Thanks that video is a great help. I can see that this is going to take a great deal of practice to get the stitch length even and nice curves. Back to the machine...

Good luck! I am new to FMQ and started with projects that "didn't matter" and were smaller. Even then, the second half was much, much better than the first. And the gloves and silicone spray help so much, even with small pieces. Don't be too hard on yourself - because it won't look anything like the things you see here. But be proud of yourself for trying. You'll improve, no matter where you "started"
