    My BIL wants his girlfriend to make him a cover for his jeeps wench, he wants it out of leather, can you use a walking foot or do you need one of those teflon feet

    u need a heavy duty machine or u will be buying a new one, soon after.......( I used a regular foot-- might be why I had to buy a new machine?) good luck, u brave soul!

    OMG! Unless you know what you are doing, just don't. I sewed on leather for many years. Once you sew a seam, it had better be perfect. You have now perforated the leather. Those needle holes do not heal. I smell disaster of the most expensive kind.

    I sewed it once. I have a heavy duty Viking and used a roller foot (just what it sounds like, a foot with little rollers on the bottom). i used painter's tape to hold the pieces together and removed the tape as I got to it. Not fun. How about pleather? or suede cloth or ultra suede, or how about denim???
