I made a green quilt, a very very green quilt, for my best friend who just turned 65. Even though she okayed the fabric and the pattern, I was worried that it was too green. She was on a bike tour in France when I made it, so I didn't send pictures of the progress for her input, like I had planned. (I decided I wanted it finished by her 65th birthday, which was yesterday.)

Bottom line is that she LOVED it, really LOVED it. I am so pleased. (I did not even get a thank you for the last quilt I gave someone....so this was much better. :) )

I'll attach a picture. Warning, it is very green. (She does not like traditional quilts.) I forgot to take a picture after I quilted it, so this is just the quilt top. I stitched in the ditch, so it actually looks the same.

It's pretty. The green colors are nice. My daughter wanted a green quilt so I made a jewel box. There was one really ugly green that took away from the entire quilt. It was only my second quilt so I had NO experience in colors for one. (The colors in my first were worse!)

Lori, I bet you were just too hard on that "ugly green" and it looked just fine. We are our worst critics, you know. :)

It was more my daughter than me at first. After I got more into quilting I realized she was right! They were all more of grassy greens and just the one was a dark almost army green. That's why now I like to take a picture of my fabrics before I start! With digitals it's so easy.

You are right, it is GREEN. And I really like it. I'm not sure where your friend will use it, but wouldn't it look great on a sun porch?

She said she intends to use it as a lap quilt when she and her cat are reading in her computer room, which has a green carpet and green stained woodwork. She lives in Maryland, and I am in Texas, but I have seen her computer room, and it IS green. :)

I love your green quilt! Now I am inspired to purchase more greens, all shades and tones to make something similar.
