Default New Ironing Board

I'm sure I'm not the first to do this. But after losing my sewing space for over a year due to more people in the house, I just got it back a couple of weeks ago. So I am in the process of setting it up "right". Starting with an improved ironing board. This is a 24 x 55 piece of 3/4" plywood that my husband screwed right to my old ironing board and I covered with a layer of quilt batting, a layer of insula bright and then fabric. It makes ironing full width of fabric soooooo easy. I'm also in the process of putting together a new Kangaroo Sewing Desk that my machine will sit in. Next on the list is the interlocking rubber flooring tiles. Sometimes we have water issues so the flooring can't be carpet or it would get ruined But a layer of rubber tiles would sure help keep my feet a tad warmer and be softer to walk on than the concrete floor.

I just got my sewing space back too, cowpie. I love what you and DH did to your ironing board! I think I'll head into Lowe's tomorrow and buy some wood

I did that and I love it. I also use it as a work table cause it is the correct height when standing.

My big board is 48" wide. I wish I had gone a little bit longer because my iron doesn't fit on their nicely when I'm ironing full width fabrics. I have some plywood out in the garage... it might be time for a new project....
Yours looks wonderful!
