DW called from a garage sale said they had a 201-2 should I buy it for $45.00. It was in a cabinet and belonged to his mother. I told her to get it. Got home and she got it for $40.00. AN434678 Mar 16,1950 makes it around 1950-1951. It is in good shape I will get it cleaned up and take some pictures of it.

I recently got a 201-3 (has the belt and outside motor) and I am really enjoying it as it is a powerful machine with a wonderful straight even stitch. There is no more balking at seam junctions, veering off or refusing to stitch thick duck coveralls. I bought a walking foot for it and quilted a large quilt with no problems. Now I want to try FM with it. I hope you enjoy your machine as much.

    Congrats on your new-old 201-2.
I just bought the same model, but a 1946 version, & paid a lot more than your wife did - lucky you!
I learned to sew on a 201 & recently replaced Mom's newer Singer for an oldie but goodie into her old art deco cabinet I now have. The machine is a dream to sew with - I do like it lots!

My Avatar is another oldie I have - treadle Singer 66, "Red Eye".
