New Project for my nephew(?)
I have been working on this quilt it. I am not sure if I want to add more borders to make it larger. It fits the top of a queen size bed at the moment but I do like quilts that overhang the edges. It is a pattern called "The Herd" by Lyn Brown, she did it in Christmas fabric, I went in a different direction. I may be giving it to my nephew or to a local club to raffle. There are 9 different fabrics, most is pieced but the deer profile is applique. I am not sure if I should just SITD on it or try something fancier. I will quilt on my Bernia Activa 240. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Love it!
Beautiful job..
If it were me, I'd probably add more border, using at least two fabrics.
For the deer, I'd shadow stitch just inside the tan fabric. Then in the dark blue do the same till you get to the tan border. Then maybe a zig-zag stitch in the dark blue strips.
No matter what you decide to do, it's great!

I think a solid border would look good and add that extra width and length you like. SITD would look nice with stippling around each dear. Love the extra touch of your prairie points. All in all it's very nice.

Lovely quilt!
I'd definitely add at least one more border, preferably the background fabric and bind the quilt with one or several of the beige/tan fabrics. Right now it just looks a bit unfinished to my eyes. If you add another plain border, you leave more room for the eye to enjoy the flying geese and the deer.
The quilting..hm..I would probably echo quilt around the deer and choose a different design for the borders and another for the sashing.

I agree..... add a border and echo quilt around the deer. I really like this one.... would go perfect up here at the cabin. So, if you decide to give to charity, I can come up with a charity..... called me!
