If you were happy with a Brother , and you liked certain features that are probably found on most Brother machines, save yourself a lot of time and head ache, and keep your search to just Brother machines.

I think I agree with SuzieQuilts! I love my Brothers and depending on the amount of $$ you have to spend, you can "upgrade" to the newer version of your machine. I can research until I'm dizzy and I always come back to Brother. I buy "Refurbished" ones and save a great deal of $$. They are thoroughly checked out and I've had very little trouble with mine.

In the mean time I have been blessed with getting a basic machine for free! My DH's co -worker had one she only used 2ce and when she heard I needed a machine, she gave it to me. All I know until DH brings it over later tonight is that it is a Brother, and just does the basic sewing. But anything to be able to sew while I take my time doing research works for me.

For now, I think I'm going to get another Brother like I had. The Brother SQ9050. It does what I have gotten spoiled with, is in my small price range and will give me time to look into a heavier duty one. Business has picked up a bit this last couple of months which helps. Plus once I find the heavier duty one, I'll have the SQ9050 as my back up.

I have a beautiful Singer 206 I'd sell you very cheap. It's heavy duty but it doesn't have a computerized *anything*!! I'm glad you found what you need!

HI QuiltingGrannie, I have both the Janome 11,000 SE & the Janome 12,000. I will NOT get any other machine but Janome. I had my 6000 for almost 30 yrs and still love it and it was/is such a great machine that when I went to purchase a new one I only thought of Janome. Want to buy my 11,000? It's for sale. PM me
