Default New use for something old!!

I am making the Mystic Nights Bargello from Keepsake Quilting. For the #1 panel ( needed 11 panels ) I had to cut 99 2 1/2 in. strips. I don't have a lot of bare flat surfaces in my sewing room, I thought "what am I going to do"? I don't want to have to iron these again after I cut them, sometimes they get wavy. Then I remembered my old wooden clothes drying rack, you know, the ones with the little wooden dowels. Mine is free standing and folds flat when not in use. Its perfect for hanging my fabric cuts and strips on, won't have to iron anything a second time now. This baby is going to be a permanent fixture in my sewing room!!

I don't have a wooden one, but have two metal ones that are in use every week, for laundry. But they are wonderful for hanging and organizing quilting pieces too! Good call Jackie.

Good idea!! I bet you could use those to put thread cones on too. Thanks for the idea.

When I do bargello I use a dowel hanging from the ceiling( not much floor space in my sewing area) ... much the way you use your drying rack.

You've reminded me of the threads on this board about Bad Kitty. I miss seeing pictures of her and her buddy!

Yes I do have a cat, but she has a neurological disorder. Has never jumped up onto anything, I put her on the foot of my bed at night to sleep, she can get down, just not up. Poor baby. Her name is Bitty Boo
