Default not happy with quilt top--what to change?

I'm not completely happy with this trip around the world quilt top and am thinking of changing out the pink squares (I know, probably a crazy idea!). I have another fabric which is a possibility, but not sure it's the best choice.

What color fabric would you choose for this spot.

I do like the second fabric better, although both look nice. I like how you have each fabric leading into the next one through color. Love the one with the birds!!

I like your quilt top, its very cheery. I like the pink that is in the quilt top already. The new fabric is nice as well. I am far from an expert, but I would audition removing the white squares.

I would like the white as a small stop border

I would choose cream or ivory, or rust or copper, with an almost invisible design to keep the texture alive.

That is a lot of ripping if these rows are all sewn together. Is it really worth all that effort??

I agree. Call it a lesson learned and move on to the next quilt. Oh, and I think the original colors are just fine.

I realize that colors don't always show up well on the computer monitor, but I very much like it as it is. I think your colors blend nicely from one to the next. It isn't a matchy-matchy quilt, and I like that.

Thank you for your responses. This is one of four quilts I am making for my four sisters. I like the other three quilts better, and that's why I want to be happy with this one, too. I know a lot of ripping would be involved and I'm not sure I can do it without making a mess. However, I have used some of the same fabrics in each quilt and don't have any left, or I'd just start a new quilt and keep this one for me. I'm making a trip to JoAnn's tomorrow to do a look-and-see.
