    Default Nylon Thread

I have been gifted with several large spools of nylon thread. Is there a reason that I can not use this thread for quilting and if so, what is it?

i'd be afraid that the ends would poke the quilt user. i've heard that mono-filament is much softer and better to use

It may melt when you press the seams.

Nylon can melt, can become brittle, can yellow with age. It's not recommended for quilting. Monofilament thread is often nylon.

I like MonoPoly which is a clear thread, but it is a lot softer, you can iron it and just behaves so much better than a nylon or monofilament.

I took a class on different types of thread. When monofilament thread was mentioned, the teacher said to avoid nylon and use the polyester monofilament thread instead.
