OBW Question
#1
My next project is a OBW. Since I haven't purchased the book yet, can someone tell me how much fabric I need to purchase? There are a lot of good sales on the internet and I want to take advantage of them.
Thanks,

I would suggest checking to see if your local library has the book. There are also tutorials available online for them

You will need at least 6 repeat of the pattern, so if your pattern repeat is 24" you will need 6 x 24" which is 4 yards, I alway get extra so that I can use some on borders or on the back. I hope this helps. :)

ditto ... at least six repeats. It's always good to have atleast one more to include a reference on the quilt of the original fabric.
Some do borders, some just a patch on the back of the one repeat, and in my case, I had enough fabric for the full back to use the original fabric.
I just stand in the store and measure off the # repeats I want and then an extra few! :) Then let them measure.

the amount of fabric is dependant upon the size of quilt you wish to make- and the size of the repeats in the fabric- you need at least 6 repeats- so if your repeat is every 12" you need alot less than if the repeat is every 28"...
you could try finding the book at the library- or go to a shop that has it and look through it.
fabric selection is everything to make OBW's work
