Wow, that is way cool. So, what advice do you need? It says that the yo-yo's were tacked in the center and in about four places around each one - through the quilt. So, I'm thinking make a plain quilt top and back, fill with low loft batting, and bind it. Then attach the yo-yo's. It reminds me of stones on a beach. I love it!!

That is a beautiful quilt, I don't blame her for wanting one like it. A couple of the yoyo's look like they have some kind of pleating or something decorative done to them.

Clothilde's has quick yoyo makers in different sizes. I'm not sure what the largest one is. I bought a couple of the small size ones to make decorations for on my crazy quilt but I haven't tried them yet. From what I see on YouTube they'd be really easy to use.

Joann's has several diff sizes and shapes...And yes, just make a light weight quilt and sew them either by machine or if you don't want the thread stitch to show on back then by hand and only thru top layer.

Yes, that's what the description seems to be saying. Thanks for sharing this. I've been trying to think of something really different to do for my DD. This would be perfect! Unusual and interesting. I've made a yo-yo quilt before, but not those big ones. This should be fun and something I can carry with me on vacation this summer.

Not the same ... but did you see the cover of the June 2011 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. It has a yo-yo quilt featured.
