Default Ok to take the air out of batting to store?

Someone suggested I buy the bags that you can suck the air out of contents to save space in my storage room. Will this ruin my batting?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I use spacebags to store my batting scraps and they are fine when I reopen the bags.

I would think it could cause wrinkling. If you do that you should consider opening the bag a couple days ahead of needing batting to let the wrinkles to release some.

I think a lot of those types of bags leak air. Also they will wrinkle the batting a lot. What kind of batting is it? Some springs back more easily than others.

When we buy polyester batting for the store, it is vacuumed as tight as it will go. The cotton and poly/cotton ones are not. I don't think it will hurt anything. But you may want to let it fluff for a day before you use it.
