Excuse me but my question is even more dumbier: what are fat quarters etc and all those expressions? Being french-speaking (but I write, read and speak english), it is the first time I hear of this...

I think you mean because it's not 9" by 44" (a regular quarter yard cut), barbsbus. It's still a quarter yard of fabric, Louise, it's just shorter and fatter so you are able to do more things with it.
If you ask me, all those jelly rolls, layer cakes, cinnamon rolls and noodles are what make FAT QUARTERS! :roll: :D
