I agree, embroidering the saw teeth would be good, or use rickrack. I made a wall-hanging for my brother and used fusible and edge stitched but if this will be a quilt the needle turn would maybe be sturdier. I can't see what size you intend to make.

I'd say have fun and try many different techniques on this unusual pattern. You will have created a 1 of a kind quilt then for sure.
