Would anyone like to adopt me?

I"m sure you will find lots of people willing to adopt you. There are so many great people on here with all areas of expertise and skill levels. You can probably find a different mentor for piecing, applique, binding, free moton quilting.....you come up with the question and everyone will help! Good luck and welcome to the board! Waving from Arizona!

Welcome. This is a great place to learn lots about quilting. You'll find our members are a nice and willing to share bunch. So when you have questions, just ask away.
Consider yourself adopted.

This board IS your mentor - but it is nice to have a special person also. I am so thrilled with this site because I have the opportunity to see the most awesome quilts, to find answers to questions, to share and have so many share with each other. There are several tutorials to look at as well and some quilters have posted web sites to find patterns and other tutorials. I wish I could personally thank every one that shares so much on this board, so I will just say it now - THANK YOU.

Hi, Alison,
I live not too far from the Wyoming border, about an hour from Evanston. I know that Wyoming has a state quilt guild, and I found a list of all the guilds in the state: http://wsqg.org/clubs.htm And here is a list of quilt shops: http://wsqg.org/shops.htm
One of these may be close to your location, and that's always a good place to start. I can just see all the ladies perking up and their hands rubbing together when someone says "I'm a new quilter..." And if you ever cross over the western border, stop by for a visit anytime!!
