Default omigosh, this is the best thing ever!!

I had to stop in the middle of a row to share. I'm doing STD on a jelly roll quilt, and gripping the quilt is hard, especially in the middle. It's too hot for gloves, the finger cots strangle my fingers, and I've just never hit on the perfect thing. I suddenly remembered reading somewhere (most likely here, where else?) about using new kitchen sponges, the ones with the scrubby on one side.

Well, it's AMAZING!! Set them scrubby side down, and rest your hands gently on the sponge side. It grips perfectly! It's easy on the hands. It's wonderful. God bless whomever suggested this.

OK, back to sewing. This beast needs to be done by Saturday!

What a great use for the scrubby sponges. I will try it real soon, maybe this afternoon.

The only con, I have to stop and pick up the sponges or other holding aids to move to a different place. Once I get going I don't want to stop.

MaryAnnMc.....thanks for the tip.
Alyce.......great link....I was thinking it would be good to have something to hold the sponges on your hands.

Neat idea!

I'm going to raid the big bunch of these I have from Costco and toss two into my sewing room - I just have to try this!

I have some purple gloves... and they work OK... but I hate having to take them off and on.
