Default Opinion on thread colors

I usually love veriegated thread, but I don't know what I think of this one. I only have one row laid down, so I could still change my mind. Any opinions?

I agree with newbee3. Since it's noticeable with it being in the border, I'd change it. Reminds me of ink running out of a printer.

Your instincts are right on this, I'd change it too.

You can see the dark colour thread on the white, I don't think I would like that dark colour thread popping in and out of the pieced part.

I would change it. Quilting is too beautiful to disappear in the block.

Definitely change it on this particular quilt. You need a color that will show up not fade away on this quilt.

since it's a panto the same part is always going to be the same color, it would be better for free motion I think

When the colors in variegated threads vary so drastically they lose their effects. This one seems to have very long intervals and the changes are not subtle. It does look like part of the design is missing. If you don't like what you see on this small portion of the quilt, you are going to hate it more the further you go. Fortunately, there are more choices.

I second this. I used to be obsessed with varigated threads, but now I find them kind of distracting and want more control over the blending, so I have stopped using them.
