I would leave the butterfly where it is - very cute wall hanging.

My suggestion, since you aren't happy with where it is: Move the butterfly (in the square it's in) to the right, so that it is centered between the bottom and right hand seams of that square, and just off the flower bud. Very like the position it's in now, but moved counter clockwise to the right. I think what may be bothering you is the empty space below the flower bud in that square; if you fill it with the butterfly it will "balance" the block better, as ILovetoquilt says.

Love the top! You don't like the butterfly there, because it's the only outer square with two objects in it. So either add another object to each of the other squares (not a good idea, because then it would look busy) or just leave the butterfly off.

Is the block your original? I love it and would love to have the pattern. TIA!

love the block the way it is but you are the one that must be happy with how it looks - - -move it around and see where or if you like it in that spot

Thanks for all the suggestions. My friend suggested adding another butterfly to the same block because that one looked lonely. That might really overwhelm things. The 4 cats are from a Northcott pattern by Patti Carey called Kool Kats Kwilt. Basically it's an 8" snail's trail with the cat bodies attached to the 4 sides and four background fabric blocks in the corners, so it was a perfect 24 X 24, which was specified in the challenge. I added the appliqued "Baltimore Album" type flowers to incorporate the garden theme. Since I had leftover HST's from the Snail's trail, I used them in the corners of the plain blocks for interest. I will bind it with the turquoise fabric, but I don't have room for a border. Thinking about hand quilting it since it's such a small project. I will probably give it to the DGD for her dolly bed after the show.

Since it's a wall hanging add the binding first then secure it just outside the block. It will give a 3D effect and look like it's trying to fly off.
