Default Organizing scraps for applique

I have organized most of my fabric I have my larger pieces around poster board and smaller pieces around 4 x 6 cards. The question I have is how to organize my scraps. Since I do a lot of applique I am not sure about cutting them into strips and squares. I was wondering how others who applique organize their scraps.

I have a friend that uses the small divided drawers Iike you can get from Lowes / WM (the ones for screws & bolts) she labels each drawer with the size of the shapes and puts them all in the drawers accordingly. I know sometimes these can be too small so I've gotten the clear/white drawers from WM or Big Lots. There are some small drawers that are 3 in one. You could use these if you needed something bigger.

I use old plastic ice cream containers labelled for each colour and I find that they stack well on top of each other within a cupboard.

I use a big ol' ziploc plastic bag. When I tried to cut all my scraps down to 2x2 squares and toss the rest, I ended up scavenging them out of my sewing room trash can and now I am making a mini log cabin. It only gets too small for me when it can't be sewn on a 1/4" grid.
