I'm thinking of getting one of the floor lamps for my sewing room since the lighting is so poor but I'm not sure which one would work best. I have the little portable one that you lift the cover & the light comes on but it seems like I need one that I could put behind my chair to get more light. Joann's has them 50% off so now is the time I should get one. I'm thinking either the ottlite 20W Chadwick one for $75.00 or the ottlite 24W craft plus floor lamp for $100.00. Do any of you have either of these or another one & how do you like them? Any information will help. Thanks!

I don't have an Ott light but a knock off like it. I absolutely love my floor lamp and am hoping that I can someday afford another. Mom got me this one for Christmas from Menards. Its kind of like loews or home depot type store. Lots cheaper and just the same lighting.

I have 2 Ott lamps.
One is a floor model type, but don't know which model and the other is a clip on. That one is at the end of the table where I cut and the other is at the end where I sew ... I love them

I had an Ott light for several years. Loved the light but I had to replace the ballast 3 times at a cost of about $50 each time. I had to call the company itself to order replacement as no stores carried them. New ballast would last about 2 years. Finally I chucked it and bought a cheaper brand. I like it just as well for the light but the goose neck part is not as well made. My sister has the same model as I had and she has never had to replace the ballast. I don't believe they still make that model. The plug was on the ballast and you could unhook the cord from the ballast

I love ott lites. For Christmas my two kids got me the ottlite 24W craft plus floor lamp for my sewing room it is great. I was kind of worried it would a little too bright but it is not. I have an ottlite 18W craft floor lamp at my chair were I cross stitch. They are great. They are also wonderful to see the true color of things.

I bought a generic brand floor model from Menards a few years back. They were on sale for $17.99. Loved it so much I went back and bought another one. Haven't had to replace bulbs, but they carry them also. My hubby loves it too for reading the paper.

I bought an Ott light floor lamp at Joann's when it was less than 1/2 price. The lighting is great, but I wish the base was heavier. If I move it around, it tips easily. Not a major problem now that I'm aware of it. I just take my time setting it where I want.
