In the process of stippling a baby quilt for my new grand nephew-to-be, realized part way through I am going to run out of thread, a variegated I bought umpteen years ago. Just ordered something that looks quite similar - just hope it works. Why didn't I think ahead? DUH! Good thing is it's a busy novelty print, so should be ok.

If it's variegated I don't think it should matter, besides it's an artistic decision!!

Been there, done that. I was using a pretty green varigated on a twin size quilt doing feathers. I concentated on getting the middle section done and then switched to solid green for the feather spines and 8 inch border. I had just enough to finish it this way. Good luck, a similar varigated should look fine.
