Everytime I get the opportunity to make a little? trip I go through this so I was thinking I could get some help this time?
I have the opportunity to go to Paducah to do nothing but play for a week and I'm trying to talk myself out of it or into it. Hubby is going there to work all week so his company pays for the hotel. However, I can't go with him today for a number of reasons, which means that I will have to drive the 550 miles alone tomorrow and back on Sunday.
Some of my reasons not to go...
    Very long drive alone
It's sin city for quilters, right? I could get in serious trouble there??
I'm just getting over a flu bug
    there's much to do here

Some of my reasons to go...
I've wanted to go to Paducah for a long time
Temptations there - can I stay out of (quilter) trouble (mostly!!)
    spending some time with hubby
I could sit and sew at Quilt in a Day on a great machine for the day for $5!

Ok...now you can help me either get in trouble or stay out of trouble! :-)

Paducah? For a week? this is a no brainer, laralea. "I could sit and sew at Quilt in a Day on a great machine for the day for $5!" - if all i did was this each day, it would be worth the trip. i've been to Paducah and it is awesome. there is so much to see and do, and much of it is not that expensive. this summer, i drove 5000, yes 5000, miles alone to do what makes me happy. you will kick yourself if you do not take the opportunity. go for it :!: :!:

Well, look at it this way: If DH's company is paying for the hotel, you're really saving a lot of money to go someplace you wanted to go. If you go at some future time, you'll have to pay for the hotel, too. If you go now, you've saved a lot on the hotel, so you have extra to spend. ;)

I say go for it!! You have the opportunity to go somewhere you have wanted to go, hubby will be there, you will get to do what you love - let's face it the reasons to go are way more substantial than the reasons to stay home. Get an audiobook or two for the drive and GO GO GO!

PS Here is a good rule for staying out of trouble: If you can't afford it and/or don't need it for something you are working on right now, don't buy it. It has kept the dollars in my wallet on more than one occasion.

    Have fun!!!! :-D
