I'm making Union Jack blocks, the 4 quadrants of which are paper pieced. I was using computer paper, too, but it's more difficult to tear away. So I ordered Carol Doak's Foundation Paper from Amazon, 100 sheets, $7.91/pkg. It prints well and is easy to tear away.

I use Carol Doak paper and buy it when it is on sale. I have also used a vellum type paper from Office Max. I rather like it because it will go through the printer and yet is translucent and tears out cleanly and easily. I think there are lots of choices. I personally do not like freezer paper.

I use newsprint a lot and have also used notebook filler paper which will tear easily. I made a small light box with a plastic container, a 5 inch piece of Plexiglas and a small light from Dollar Tree works great to get the fabric lined up correctly

I often use computer paper & to make sure it is right you just hold it up towards the light.

Oh, also I use a smaller stitch so when you tear it off it comes off easy. Also helps to fold it a little but not necessary. I don't have any problems tearing the paper off but it is a boring job!
