I'm new to quilting and was wondering if I can piece two pieces of batting together. They are the same, Soft Crafty low loft. I am too lazy to put on makeup and go to the store. Any suggestions on how to do this, if it is ok to do it. Thanks

I butt the edges together and zig zag them together. Works great!

I whip stitch them together by hand.

I did see a new product, new to me, that is a fusible tape that joins batting together.

When butting, will they come apart when washing if the quilting is a loose quilting, about 6 inches apart??

I often do this and it works well as long as you have lots of quilting to keep it in place. I just ladder stitch by hand when putting them together. It doesn't take long and why waste it?

this is how I also do it...Zigzag on the sewing machine. Works perfect!!! no batting waste

I use Warm and Natural and I iron it together with a strip of light weight fusible interfacing. I've done this on a couple of lap quilts that have been through the wash a few times and no problems so far.
