I am working on a crazy quilt, am quilting each individual block first, then joining them to complete the quilt. I have been (for the first time) basting these blocks with washable glue and am really pleased with the ease this affords me. I apply the glue and then iron the block. I do not generally wash my quilts right after quilting. Will the glue dry, yellow, etc., and show through my quilt fabrics later on? I'm sure there are lots of glue users out there who do not wash their quilts after quilting... What is your experience with long term effects. Thanks!

I just posted a similar question. I do not usually wash my quilts right away. I wonder if the glue leaves lumps or stiffness if it isn't washed. - Will be watching to see what others say.

The glue will be fine. Try just using dots of glue instead of long streams of glue. Sometimes after I'm finished I spray light with water which helps to dissolve the glue.

Thanks, Sandy. I was beginning to think maybe I had made a big mistake by using the glue -- glad to know I'm OK!!
