Yes, I have a pattern for one. You just make squares, cut a slit in the back of the squares, stuff with batting and stitch the back shut. After all of the squares are made, just sew them together.
Don't put much batting in the squares, as you want them to lay flat. It looked really good, but I never got one made.

Iwas just starting an answer to your question on chat and the power went out. So, here goes here!
You really don't need a pattern for a pillow quilt. There is one pictured in one of my books and it looks easy. I was going to make one and it never happened.
Just cut squares--these look like 4" and make a backing--it looks like muslin, but it could be anything. Cut a slit in the back, hen put batting in--by layers, as you want it to lay flat. After you get the batting in and you are satisfied with how it looks and feels, just stitch the slit shut.
After all are stitched shut , just stitch the rows.
I realize you will have seams, but those could be finger-pressed flat and pinked.

Lots of good suggestions on this project...I will add one...make the outside of a sturdy fabric...than a cozy flannel for the inside.....quilt it in large squares, makes a great quillow

Funny you should bring this up. I have been eyeing a pattern from Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting, Jan./Feb. 2007 on pages 94 - 97. You could also buy a kit at that time for $55. Says it is great for beginners.
I think it would be a great way to use up some fleece or flannel.
    Have fun!

You will love the quillows. I give them to freinds who are undergoing chemo or dialysis and they carry them with them. I had given one to my surrogate mother and when she died sometime later, you could see where she at clenched the fabric. I strengthened and presented it to her son as I had done it a flower print that was so her. I understand from his wife it sits in a special chair in their bedroom.

And you can have so much fun designing them! Panels prints are great for beginners.

Have fun and keep quilting. We learn with each project.
