Default applecore template

what size are applecore supposed to be? I have alot of 4" precuts can u do with this size? any help would be much appreciated.......kelly

As long as you stay true to the shape, you can use whatever size of template you want. You might try to take a template you have to a copier and reduce the size to fit your 4" blocks.

If you're referring to the MSQC template it fits a charm square.

You can do them as small or as big as you want ... it's your quilt!

As a hint, once you have your template determined, if you want an easy way to cut out the applecores ... take the paper template to a glass cutting shop and ask them to cut you a template out of plexiglass.

I did that for my applecore ... layered the fabrics then zipped around the template with a small rotary cutter. Had them cut in no time. As always you'll find your piecing to be much easier when you start with evenly cut pieces ... and probably more so when doing all the curves of this project. I know I did many a happy dance as I worked on mine!

four inches is a bit small. you could make yourself a tumbler template and do those. I did some on five inch squares. the bottom was five inches and the top three or three and a half. not much waste. good luck.
