I am considering buying a pounce pad. Is there any negative feedback out there about this product? If so, I would like to know before buying it....Thanks.

I use mine all the time, the iron off is the way to go if you are doing borders or larger areas. The older chalk would bounce off or smear quickly.

i have the older chaulk that wipes off with a wet cloth or washes out. my pounce has a sort of terry cloth cover that i'm not fond of. i used it on a vine and leaf stencil that had points that the pounce pad got caught on. so i had to "pounce" the pad and that worked. they of course day to wipe it across your stencil. but then i didn't buy stencils that would have worked better. continous line stencils. But yes, i like it. so give it a try or ask more at quilt stores, etc.

I spent ALOT of $$$ on mine.... gave it away because I mainly wanted to use mine with batiks.... it is worse than USELESS for batiks in my estimation

I tried using the iron off pounce with a sponge brush (instead of the eraser/pad method). I prefer the iron off friction pens. So if you buy the pad, let me know and I'll send you some powder.

I just used a pounce pad for the first time and I wasn't that thrilled. I brushed off when I wanted it to and it worked fine, but I prefer precise lines when I quilt, and a pounce pad provides somewhat blurred lines when using it with a stencil. It did brush off when I wanted it to, though, and it didn't brush off before that, so I wouldn't say it's a bad product, just that it's not my preference.

One word of caution do not try to iron off the blue pounce chalk... it does leave a stain. I find it somewhat problematic. I like to quilt on flat surfaces .. and do alot of white or natural color backgound quilts.. so the blue chalk is best.. but I can't ever iron once the chalk is applied. oh.. and if you are using the blue .. you have to wash the quilt once you are done.
