Default pressing batting tape on cotton/polyester batting

Can batting tape be pressed onto cotton/polyester batting? Will the batting melt? How hot should the iron be? Is it ok if the iron touches the batting? I learn alot on this website. I don't have anybody else to ask. Thanks.

I have some of the tape but have never used it. I'll be watching for the answers you get from this group.

If possible cover the polyester on each side of the batting tape so it doesn't stick to the iron. I would try a small sample to make sure it doesn't melt the batt.

The tape is polyester. If you iron it on the cotton setting it will melt. Since you should be ironing on the poly setting there wouldn't be any problem ironing to cotton poly batting.

The Batting Seam Tape package from www.bosalfoam.com says to use a steam iron with metal sole plate; in general the wool setting will work best with most cotton, wool, bamboo & 80/20 cotton blends. Use the silk or synthetic setting with 100% poly batts, increase heat as necessary. HTH
