Night is always a good time for me. I got home from Bible study around 8:30, checked my emails and watched the X Factor with the hubs. Had a little snack and now I'm cutting 5" squares and 3" squares out of all my green fabric. The 5" blocks are for a Christmas tree wallhanging. The 3" squares are for yoyos. I have been covering cone shaped styrofoam with yoyos. I made one scrappy and one in white, beige and cream. The second one I have added buttons, flowers and ribbon for a real shabby chic look.

wow-so many night owls.I can not do that anymore.when I can not sleep at nite-because of fibro-I used to sew.then when I really woke up I had to un-sew all the time.so now I just lay in bed or watch tv-less un-sewing that way.

Well, I was back at it by 9 this morning. Got a rag quilt done, and worked on some binding on table runners I have sitting around when I needed a change of pace. Just got my daughter off the bus and am waiting for DH to come home to take over with her so I can get back in front of my machine. Another late night tonight, but I do find I make more progress that way - the kids are all asleep and not asking a million questions about what I'm doing! I do find that once I'm tired, I'm DONE. Couldn't keep my eyes open anymore last night! I'm not sure I'm cut out for the craft fair route - I may just be too much of a procrastinator!

So sorry you are in the hospital,,I know how that feels. In the last year I was in the hospital 5 times for resp-iratory failure. I now always have some hand work for sitting in doctors offices, and if I am admitted...One time they kept me for a month..almost had my kids bring my sewing machine in!!

I couldn't sleep so finally got up at 3 a.m. I'm machine appliqueing shapes I cut out of little Hard Rock Cafe t-shirts onto hot pink and black animal print knit fabric. They were too small to make a regular t-shirt quilt. It's for an 8 year old girl who loves all things bright. I would rather be sleeping, but I seem to get a lot of insomnia sewing time! (You can see the next project in the picture...ugly wrestling t-shirts to be made into a quilt.)

Someday you will look back on this time as a blessing. Many years ago I had booked TWO wedding cakes for the same weekend -- the week of Christmas. I was a teacher and baked and "did my thing" at nght and on weekends. This was going to be during the Christmas break. Well on the last day of school before the break, I landed in the hospital and remained there until Dec. 26. First thing I had to do was make calls and arrange for someone else to take care of these responsibilities. Things fell into place and everyone involved was very understanding. That was probably the best "rest" I've ever had despite the fact that I was pretty sick. My grown children got into motion and took care of holiday meals and celebrations. Things seem to fall into place if we just take it all in stride and accept.
Krsy, I wish you well and a quick recovery. In the meantime, relax and focus on healing. Everything else will take care of itself. Merry Christmas.

I wish I could sew at night on the week-end. I can be a night owl and thinl I would get a lot done but my machine is in the front of the house and my machine faces the road and I[m pretty much a chicken to be up there late at night. I know I could get a lot done, I just need to get over the fear factor.
