I did a similar thing that others have done. I bought quilted and non quilted fabric. I cut my circle, then cut strips from the non quilted. I gathered the strips and made a ruffle for the edge of the skirt, then bound the edges with the remaining strips. I top stitched the seam where the ruffle and skirt meet to keep it from turning over.

Take a pencil and a string the lenght of the radius you want. Pin the string to the middle of the fabric you have and stretch the string and pencil out to mark a circle. Find a simple design and piece it into a square before marking and cutting. |

I have a slim tree....so what size do I need. It is 36 " diameter tree???
