I do raw edge applique, I guess thats what you call it. I can hardly do anything by hand because my hands are full of arthritis. Don't ask me to post it, I haven't how figured how and I want to change my Avatar picture and can't seem to be able to do that. Some day.

Just took a class with Ellie Sienkiewicz's while in Houston. And picked up what patterns they had for the New 50 states blocks by Pearl Pereira. you can see them on www.amidonquiltworks.com . so looking forward to starting this one. Now the fabric stash search begins.

I love love love applique...all kinds, I still practice practice practice my needle turn and someday aspire to be good enough (and fast enough) to tackle a baltimore album. I recently discovered silk 100 wt. thread and have found this sooooo helpful for hand work of any kind.
Lately Ive seen some very nice machine satin stitch which to me seems like a revival from the 1970's of this technique, I think I need a sewing machine better than I have for this technique. |
Would love to join. I love to applique and find that is about all I do anymore. Haven't done a pieced quilt in awhile.

I love applique and do lots of Sunbonnet Sues and chickens. I'll join. Let's share patterns. I don't machine finish the edges I do it by hand. I love to sit and listen to the tv and do the blanket stitch and I always use matching threads I hate it all in black.
