So today I put in a brand new blade - worked great...then I used it to cut some batting and now its dull as all get out - is this common? do you have a seperate cutter or scissors you use for batting?

I have an old rotary cutter that I use for batting. It will ruin a good blade!

Never thought of it, Thanks for the tip !! Do often have to do clean up on the board afterwards.

I cut my batting with scissors just for this reason. Maybe keep a second cutter and use the duller blades in it :D:D:D

Find cutting batting such a pain. Never seems to come out straight. Will use old cutter from now on. Thanks for the tip.

Yep I have different ones for different jobs, and lord help anyone who touches my scissors. It seems that anytime they need to cut something they come straight to my sewing room. Honey got a good firm heads up 2 days ago. He laughed.

I use a different one for batting and pp cutting. I also use it for cutting denim.

I'm like Alex Anderson....why have a good pair of scissors-or 3 or 4 if you're afraid to use them. I USE my scissors and will sharpen them when needed. In fact, after about 10 years of hard use, on pair of ginghars needs to go in.
