I have never used it but I have a couple projects that are going to use a lot of black and darker colors. Does it make a difference?

I love using black batting especially the new Legacy. It lays wonderfully and quilts like butter.

I've used it a couple of times on quilts with plain black in them - it makes a huge difference to the lint, at least, you must still get lint but at least it doesn't show up! Mine was from a UK supplier and was a Quilter's Dream type poly. I would always use black in future on dark quilts, especially those using solid black fabric.

Thanks, I always wondered if it would make a difference. I am making quilted covers for a couple sketch books and I have a couple handbags to do. All are primarily black. So I will give it a whirl on these small projects first.

Yes, it does make a difference! A few years back I was at the Sisters quilt show and saw a wonderful black (background) quilt. As I got closer to do the quilters up close look-see, it was full white fuzz coming out all over the place. Oh so sad, I think it was a polyester batting.

I have wondered about that too, good question!

Black batting and white fabric seem to be the topics of the day!

I think it is a great idea for black and ? tops. I plan to make one in the future for my bedroom. Where do you buy black batting and what company makes it.

P.S. I finally got in my sewing room. Slow but love it. No fear ----well maybe just a little. I kept saying it is just fabric. Thanks for all the help. I took to heart your advice.

I think it is a good idea to use it, you would hate to have any bearding peeking out after you put all of the time and effort into your quilt :D:D:D

try it, sounds like a good idea to use black batting so you won't have bearding
