Book to help a beginner
If you were to give a beginning quilter one book to help her learn some of the tips and techniques involved in making a quilt, what book would you recommend?

"Quilting, The Complete Guide" by Darlene Zimmerman is a great book. It tells you about everything and how to do it. It's also a great reference guide.

I think I would want to know the style of quilts this person was attracted to, and get a beginners book featuring that style. I like contemporary quilts, so bought a book with some simple patterns that I really liked. Since then, I've gotten books that are more technical, but the book I ended up with was very basic and just what I needed to get going.

Any "Quilt in a Day" book. Eleanor Burns is so good at teaching beginning quilters.
