When you made your totes did you quilt it any or just sewed it together and which did you prefer best?

I did not quilt mine. I used a fusible stabilizer (DecorBond). But, I wish I would have quilted it, also.

Speaking of the fusible stablizer. I bought what the pattern called for the 987 fusible fleece. Did any of you use this one or did you prefer something else?

I have used the 987 pellon fusible fleece. It is a great product, but quite costly. But in the long run it is worth it.It gives the purse that extra support.I like it.

I know I will probably go back through all the bow tucks threads and look at all of them. But did you quilt them diagonally or how did fmq?

finch 08-08-2010 06:36 PM

I took a ruler and drew my lines diagonallyon the opposite side of the fabric and then sewed along the lines.

I have only made three mini bow tuck totes and quilted all three; I also quilted the linings and pockets. Used a diagonal pattern on all but one, I quilted around the flower on the pocket. I am planning on makinf the regular tote tomorrow. The quilting takes longer to do than any other step.

It is the only fusible fleece I use, I use it on all my projects, quilting and non-quilting. I got a bad roll a couple years ago and the company sent me a double roll for a replacement so they really stand behind their product.
