Chair wheels / threads

The wheels on my sewing chair are always getting clogged with threads to the point where they will barely turn. Getting the threads out is frustrating and cuts into sewing time. Do any of you have chairs with wheels with axles that can be
taken off for thread removal. If you do, what brand is it?

I have a rolling chair but don't have an issue with the thread - I try to keep a garbage can next to my machine and put it there. After a day of sewing I do pickup what ever thread I can find on the floor. I had more of an issue with the thread wrapping up in my vacuum - with these steps I solved that problem.

I guess I am not as diligent as others - I too ALWAYS have tons of thread inside my rollie wheels on my chair. I just grab and pull - lol - to get most of it out.

try poking a hole in the bottom of a clear plastic bag, just big enough to get your wheel through, then pull the bag up and tape around it to hold it closed. Thread should slide off it onto the floor...?

I have not had a problem with threads, I made myself pin cushions with thread bags and keep one by each machine.

I have a similar problem with my vacuum. I just find that it takes a few minutes every month to cut them free and move on. Sorry!

I don't pay attention to the wheels on the chair until they stop rolling, about once a year. LOL. Then DH takes care of them. I don't know if he takes the wheels off or not. He says it's always threads wrapped around. I try to be careful but don't fret over threads on the floor.

I think someone posted a picture of the wheels on their sewing chair, clogged with thread. I never gave it a thought before. I wish the gadget that moves the chair up and down would clogged in the "up" position on my chair!

I keep a used plastic icing container near my machine for tidbits. I use the hose to suck up the remaining thread around the machine/desk area prior to the major vacuuming. That way there is minimal thread to catch in the vacuum and wheels.
