i've made a number of quilts using corduroy, flannels & denims- yes it make heavy quilts but they are wonderful! it adds wonderful texture & movement to quilts- also good for appliqued animals, flowers, what ever...corduroy is a great fabric to use for any number of items...floor pillows, couch pillows, purses, totes, ...

It's great for car quilts.

thank you all for the great ideas! I will try the quilt top with flannel back and see how it works. Yes, I'm thinkin it's gonna be heavy, but 'car quilt'! yes! I have made lots of tote bags, but maybe I can make a few more and give them as gifts. And the wheelchair bags! The Veterans Hospital is very near by......I'm sure they could use a few hundred of them!!! hahahaha

I made a quilt from fine whale, used it with, flannel, fleece and homespuns and denim. Used yellow brick road pattern but did 1/2 seams. It's the favorite quilt in the house. I used batting too because it's cold here. I use everything I have!
