fabric storage

Where do people find the whatever you call to wrap your fabric in like the stores do so it will stand on your shelf and what sizes do they come in? Any reply would be greatly appreciated.

Do a search on google for comic boards.

I have used the Easy Core boards that you can buy here.

I use foam board from the $ store, I cut mine with an old rotery cutting blade. 12 inches tall and 10 inches wide.

I use the bolts that the LQS throws out.. Joannes will give them to you free too..

I use mat board (cut to size). I stock up when Hobby Lobby runs a 50% sale. I can get 9 full size and about 6 small size (for something smaller than 1/2 yard) out of one board. **whatever you use, you will want to make sure that it is acid free!!!

Good luck!

You could ask a quilt shop to save their leftover boards that the bolts come on and then cut them to the size you want.

I used the comic boards too, and I think I got 100 for about 12.00 they work great.

Thank you... I followed your lead on that comment awhile back. I like the foamcore board from the $ store. I know it's not acid free so I wrap it in Saran wrap and tape it on. Don't know if that helps...but.. that's what I'm doing to deal with the acid free vs non-acid free comments.

Is mat board heavier then the comic boards? I like something with a little weight to it. We don't have any comic stores here so I don't know how stiff they are.

Thanks
.

I also use the comic boards and get them from Amazon. I cut mine in half as alot of my stash is FQ's and pieces. The bigger pieces I just fold using the ruler method and stack it on a shelf.
