Here is the cover for the feed dogs and some other parts. Very reasonable.

Glad to hear there was a happy ending.

Vicky is the foot plastic or metal? Gerbie

Mostly plastic - and appears to be something designed for any shank that has a low screw, so it could possibly be used on other machines, not just the Featherweight.

I've been watching this thread since I recently won a FW on ebay. What about shipping, should I ask for any special shipping instructions? I'm worried about it getting damaged in shipping.....What is with this obsession I'm getting about these machines??????

Congrats on your new FW! :D I would say, pay for the insurance... it's worth the extra $$. Do they ask for instructions for shipping?

Definitely get it insured and ask that it be carefully double boxed for shipping, plus styrofoam. It needs to be protected during shiping, How are they shipping it? Get the best possible way. I know most don't like the Us Post Office, but at least if it is insured there you can get it taken care of if damaged for sure. UPS and Fed Ex are a different story for lost or damaged goods.
