About a yr ago my LQS offered a class on that book thru the tech school. It was great!! It gave me the courage to start working on my own quilts. Have since started on baby quilts, I now feel it's not beyond my current skills & am planning to do more experimenting.

Yes, I ordered it and it has shipped. Total cost was about $13.00. Will let yiou know how I like it after I have tried methods in book. Thanks for the info!!!!! Merry Christmas to ME! (When I was ordering it my DH asked if that was something for him and I said NO of course not!)

What I sometimes do as an option to FMQ is trace designs onto parchment baking paper, then I pin the design to the quilt and sew/quilt the design that way. Parchment baking paper is thin and tears easily off after it's been quilted through. I have a folders of designs on my computer and I also use stencils from LQS' as designs plus I've made up several on my own. I hope this helps.

I have the book, took a class in my area at a quilt store, and would recommend this book to anyone interested in doing machine quilting but not fmq. Your feed dogs are up and you do a lot of turning of the quilt but you don't have to worry about your stitches being to big or to small.
