Or do they? When my wife and I were shop hopping the last couple of days she asked my opinion about several of the fabrics she was contemplating, and I told her honestly what I thought about them. Some we're just ugly for specific reasons, and others would be difficult to work with, etc. Of course, all just my opinion. She went ahead and bought some, put back others.
So, when you're shopping with friends, do you give an honest opinion when they ask you what you think about it? Or do you just say "Oh, that's lovely." and move on with pawing through the bolts? |
I tell them straight out, isn't that what friends are supposed to do? just like clothes, if it doesn't look good, I tell them...
Be honest.
I sure do
I tell them they way it is.
I try to be honest and tell them what I think, but then again that's my opinion. What they do next is up to them. Usually, my facial expression says it all :) It's like your situation, when my daughter says something is ugly or she doesn't like it, I either buy it anyway or move on. At least she's honest!
be honest.
Once something is made and the picture is posted we usually say nice things about some awful things... but if you can prevent someone from making that awful thing in the first place, it is the thing to do!! |
I tell em. But, more than once I see that ugly fabric in a quilt that is breathtaking-beautiful. So what do I know?
If I am shopping with friends I tell them what I think, but if the quilt is already done I shut up. I guess is beautiful for someone besides the designer.
I give my honest opinion and ask them what they're going to use the fabric for and leave the decision up to them to buy or not to buy?? I would also want them to do the same for me!
