Has anyone made this quilt?
Hi, I have a co-worker who would like me to make this quilt. Has anyone made this

I haven't made that one but if you had the half hexagon ruler for rotary cutting, it would work up pretty fast.

I haven't made this one but I have made other of her patterns. They are well written and very easy to sew. And Julie Herman is accessible if you have questions.

Not I but really really CUTE!

Looks like all 60 degree triangles, which you can sew in strips and then join. Shouldn't be too bad.

I haven't but if I ever make this pattern I would starch my fabric heavily.
You will be dealing with lots of bias edges with this pattern. Otherwise, it should be fairly easy. Julie Herman had a quilt along for this pattern a few years ago with different layouts. Check her website. |
I have thought about doing this quilt and studied it. It is made like the one block wonder, using 6 60degree triangles. The triangles are cut from a 2 strip unit. As I said, this is how I have figured it out. The only thing is that after you cut the 6 triangles from the strip, you might also have 6 opposite triangles left that you could use for another quilt. Hmmmm. I am getting the bug to go try this. Good luck. Ann :o)

I haven't made it but it is a pretty pattern. I saw it in a baby quilt once and oh my it was gorgeous.

If I was as quilt smart like you krafty14 I would try it, but I still kinda confused about the one block wonder lol...so if you figure this out please let me know...I have the 60 degree ruler...

I haven't made this one but I don't think it would be too difficult. I would say go for it.
