I was sewing along with my Brother 6000i and suddenly everything froze up with a clunking sound. When I finally got the bobbin out, this is what it looked like. Have you ever had this happen before? What could have caused it????
Linda

I didn't cut the threads, this is the way it came out of the machine...

Wow, no have never had that happen. What a mess. Looks like something in you bobbin casing area cut the theads but can't think what would have done it.
Hope you figure it out.

wow is right. at least you were able to get the bobbin out of the machine. maybe a tip of a needle broke off in there sometime and is cutting the thread?

I agree. Check for something sharp. Also feel where you place the bobbin to make sure there is not a burr on anything.

happened to me once, think the thread was not wound on the bobbin correctly, like not tight enough.....

i've had the freeze up and clunk, but not the cut threads.

Wow, what a pain, is your machine sewing okay now with a different bobbin

yes i had that happen once or twice. I also think it was caused by the bobbin not filling correctly. mine wasn't quite that bad but enough to cause a problem. i was able to remove the cut threads then rewind the rest onto another bobbin and it was fine.

Unfortunately my answer is an embarrassing yes. It happened when I didn't wind my bobbin properly - according to my repair man, after the $65 check was accepted, the loose rounds on the bobbin got caught up and the result was uglier than yours.

Like bakermom my first thought was a poorly wound bobbin.
