$10.00...takes away from quilting time!

donnajean 01-11-2011 06:18 PM

Depends on type of hemming - machine or hand. I would go by time spent.

The dry cleaner around the corner that does alterations charges $10/pair.

Ugh- I hate hemming! Only do it for my hubby and kids and only when they are desperate lol

I am a professional seamstress and charge $10 pair for turned under hem, more for lined pants and more for cuffs. So many are still used to mom or gramndma doing it for nothing.

You are right, it does take away from my quilting time. I really don't like to hem pants either but someone that I work with ask me if I would hem her grandaughters 4 pairs of pants that she got for Christmas.

They'd have to prepay me $150.00 to even think about it!
