Santa brought me one a year ago. I don't have the stitch regulator though :mrgreen: . I have it on my Grace frame and love it. And I love the speed....and the thread cutter....and the needle up/down.....and well....

Ok got brave and did 1 row across. Had to tear it out. My feed dogs were down, the presser food was down and the stitch length was set to 0. Now what do I need to do to the tension. What do you set yours at? What a mess I had on the back! Good thing this is a baby quilt and not a queen size! My son bought me the frame at a garage sale for $100 for Mother's Day 2008. I was using an old Bernina on it.....it worked great! Also my quilt seems to be set a little high from the throat of the machine at the needle. The quilt is not touching the plate. Should it? I need the space in the back for the take-up but should I lower the front a bit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the tension on the left side front- set it all the way at the top (like unscrewing it)

make sure your top and bobbin thread are the same, my Juki likes them the same. Every time I change the bobbin I have a practice sandwich handy to be sure nothing has changed- that way the quilt doesn't get rats nests.

I've never really had any issues with the machine so I probably wouldn't be good for help. :( I just smile at it alot and tell everyone how much I love it so it behaves for me.

woo hoo!!! Just love that machine! Make sure you read the directions that come with the machine, for stippling. If you don't lower your feed dogs and lower your pressure foot, you will not be happy. Tension and stitch lenght also need to be adjusted.

I'm in the same boat. Unloaded the machine from its case and started sewing. I've never had any problem with mine. Of course I don't have a frame and that might be the difference. Hoping to get one with my tax refund ( if there is any left after house taxes and all ) I guess I'm not much help. Just keep working with it and best of luck.

Thanks so much for the tension hint. Will try again today. I did some chain stitching on it to get the feel of it. FAST! It takes off like a hot sports car! A little noisy but beautiful stitches. I normally use a Janome 10001 for piecing.

I ordered it 2 days ago - and it arrived today!

This is the fastest machine I've ever operated.

I love it already. Nice, clean stitches, too.

One thing I couldn't figure out: auto threader....

Anyone have tricks, tips?

I couldn't figure it out so I just thread it like normal. So I guess until I can't see the little hole in the needle, I'll keep doing it the old way.

oh- my FAVORITE thing- ok, one of my favorites- there is so much to love!- I LOVE the automatic thread cutter! That's the little pair of scissors button on the machine, or the other pedal on the floor. I am so lazy, when I used my Rose, I was really missing it!
