Can some one send me a step by step on how to post pictures. I got to the picture sight, and posted a message, but I didnt see a picture, I downloaded. I have a 1924 singer(model 99) machine, a friend gave me. A grdmother flower garden quilt, I'm hand quilting, and another picture or 2. I appreciate any HELP. Take care everyone. 1 more thing getting ready for our QUILT SHOW in MARCH of this year. March 16-17th. Don

I think you go to "Go Advanced" and the icon that looks like a picture is to up load
|
go to the reply box
click on 'Go Advanced'.... you will see a paperclip follow instructions.... choose image..... it will go to where your images are stored on your computer... choose the one you want? if the pic is showing more than 1000 x 1000 pixels... it will not upload.... go back to your computer folder, double click on the pic... it will take you to an edit program... look for resize.... click the arrows down on the percentage box till the size comes down... save the pic under a new name so you can find it.... i just use the same.name.small and note where it is saved... go back to the paperclip, choose image, pick out the right folder and the right image.small and then click on open.... now the screen changes ... click on upload.... it should go in.... |
Go Advanced
manage attachments browse upload hope this helps. |
if you do not see icons above your typing box, then you need to adjust your settings in General Settings. Scroll way down and choose WYSIWYG
Then, when posting your pic, use the picture frame icon with the tree in it. |
Don, go to the top of the page and click on 'Help' and you will find a link for photo posting help there. Good luck! I haven't posted any pics since the change either, but I think it is still the same...
Oh boy.... I just found a quick link... when you type in the box just above the empty box there is several icons. Starting at the right count in 3--it looks like a picture :)... click on that, then another box will open. Pick where you want to get your picture from---either your computer or URL. Click on 'choose file' then after it is chosen you need to 'upload file'. That should do it, but mine wouldn't load... Don't know why but that is how you do it.. Good luck! |

Thanks. You make it sound simple.

Welcome back Don!

Great to see you back Don, unfortunately I don't have a clue how to post a picture. Sorry, but wanted to welcome you back.
|
Welcome back, Don. Here's a link to a tutorial that Patrice did for posting photos.

Glad to see you're back, Don! Looking forward to seeing your pictures. One thing that might help is making sure the pictures aren't too big. I saw that in someone's post but could never locate the post again for specific details on size. I used a program in which you can size your pictures for internet (both small and large) and didn't have any trouble the first (and so far only) time I posted photos. Good luck!
|
Welcome back Don. I sure hope you learn how to post pics again, because I have always LOVED all your quilts!

Everytime someone asks about posting pics on this board they are told to 'Go advanced' Why? This is how I post pics.
At the top of this quick reply box there is a tool bar. The fourth icon from the right, it looks like a square with a tree inside it, is the picture icon. Click on it and it will take you to the browse box and you can insert your picture just as you did on the old QB. You can upload pics from your own computer files or click on 'from url' to upload from your blogsite. hope this helps as it is very easy to do. T |
BTW welcome back Don. I have been wondering how you have been getting on. Are you well? Or at least getting better?
You have been in my prayers for some time now. |

Welcome back - looks like you've got your answer!
|
I have been trying to figure this out also.
Thanks, Sweet Peaches. With your instructions, I succeeded. And thanks, QuiltnNan, now I can see these icons that everyone else was mentioning! |
Welcome back Don. I so enjoyed looking at your beautiful quilts that you made. I don't have a clue how to post a picture either but just wanted to let you know how excited I am to see you back on the quilting site. I had corresponded with you before the new format and you were so kind in sending me a pattern that was so much appreciated.
Can't wait to see some of your quilt work again. |
Welcome back, great to see you! Thanks to you for asking the question and thanks to QuiltnNan, I now have Icons! Maybe I will also be able to post a picture soon.
|
Welcome back. You were missed. Sounds like you've kept busy.
|
Good to see you back, glad you are feeling up to it
|
Welcome back. Good to see you.
|
A Big welcome back from Kansas! We've missed you.
|
Good to see you again, Don...you have been missed.

It is my understanding that the new board no longer resizes pictures like the old one and has maximum file size of 1.91MB for jpg files. I may be mistaken, but if your file size exceeds 1.91MB the picture will simply not load. This may be the problem you are experiencing.
To check your file size for pictures on your computer you can try right clicking the file. You should get a drop down window and among your choices is "properties" click that and it should bring up a window that among other things gives you the file size. If it is too big you need to use a photo resizing program to reduce the file size. You can also change the settings on your digital camera so it makes a smaller file size as well. Good luck! |
Glad you are back. J J

Glad to have you back, Don. Don't leave again, we like you here.
Don't overdo for your quilt show in March. :P I'm not that far away, but my guild has a show that weekend too. :( Sorry, try what the others said about posting pics. I got it right and have no clue how I did it!!!!! Can't wait to see your vintage machine pics. |
Sorry I can't be of help, Don, but welcome back. I have been totally intimidated by the new board settings and haven't tried to post on the new forum. I too have had long absences from the board in the last few months. Between holidays, illness, surgery, vacation and intimidation of the site I am working my way back slowly.
