out of the misfortune of others we sometimes get very fortunate.

we are losing another local quilt fabric shop here in town. it breaks my heart every time this happens.

however, it does allow me the opportunity to acquire more fabric. i feel like a ghoul picking the carcass but the deals are so good i can't pass them up.

the fabric was all $2.50/yard. we are talking the top brands we all know and love. current styles and colors.

my friends and i went on friday and i bought $100 worth of fabric. then we went back on monday and i bought another $100 worth of fabric plus some odds and ends. they still had some left in the store and i am thinking about going back again this friday (the last day) to see if there is anything else i can't live without.

maybe my brain will just explode before then and i will get by with what i already have.

And that's exactly what I just calculated when I read your post. Not that you spent $200 but that you save $600.

Take it further and you can say you SAVED 300% of the final cost of the fabric.

See, just like the politicians, we, too, can spin the numbers anyway we want. ;-) :-)

Congratulations. You're actually way, way ahead.

Congrats, I am sure the quilt shop owner is glad at least real quilters are buying up the fabric. It's sad the shop has to close.

It's always too bad when a LQS closes. I'm glad you got some nice deals, though!

Wish I was there, I would be your enabler!

Yes, it's very sad but I'm glad you're getting great deals.

That happened to one of the shops my mom goes to. She picked up a load of fabric (and a lot for me :-) )
